The screening will be followed by a conversation with journalist Xifang Yan.
The Dust Of Modern Life (Pa Va Hêng 2021 82′ 16mm, color):
Once a year, Liêm and three of his friends hike deep into the Vietnamese jungle for a spiritual cleansing ritual, living solely on what nature gives them.A tradition that - like the jungle itself - is in danger of disappearing. Accompanied by the director, the audience is humorously introduced to the dynamics between Liêm, his fellow travelers and the film crew, with all their surprises and intercultural feints. Worldviews and truths collide in a hallucinatory fever dream of opposites, but the relationship between the travelers remains.
