Club
From a multilingual network of Berlin authors and literary activists that has been growing since 1995, our association was founded in 2005. Since then, we have dedicated ourselves to discovering contemporary Berlin literature in all its diversity: We bring languages and genres together and mix literary energy into the everyday life of the big city. In addition to city-wide literary salons and reading series, the multilingual discovery series PARATAXE and our literary online magazine stadtsprachen.de, the Berlin Asia Arts Festival is currently our most important project.
Die heutige Insel der Jugend, vielen Berliner:innen auch als Insel Berlin bekannt, blickt auf eine bewegte Geschichte zurück. Ursprünglich als Rohr-Insel beziehungsweise Treptower Bruch bezeichnet, wurde sie Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts im Zuge der Berliner Gewerbeausstellung 1896 aufgeschüttet und ausgebaut – damals als Neu-Spreeland. Nach dem Brand des Abtei-Gasthauses im Jahr 1914 und dem Bau der markanten Stahlbetonbrücke wurde sie in der DDR zur Insel der Jugend: ein Treffpunkt für Konzerte und Open-Air-Formate.
Seit 2010 betreibt der kulturALARM e.V. das Kulturhaus Insel Berlin als Ort für experimentelle Musik, Festivals und interdisziplinäre Projekte – offen, unabhängig und generationenübergreifend. Mit Blick auf 2026 setzt es auf Nachhaltigkeit, Diversität und Verknüpfung von Kultur mit Stadtnatur: eine Kultur, die verbindet.

The House of Indonesian Cultures is an institution of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Berlin and reports to the Attaché for Education and Culture. With its events and activities, the House of Indonesian Cultures aims to provide information on many aspects of Indonesia, especially in the fields of science and culture.
NOVILLA is a project of Moving Poets Berlin which operates the Hasselwerder Villa in Berlin Schöneweide as an international center for art, creativity and dialogue.

C*SPACE ist ein kreativer Raum in einer ehemaligen Möbelfabrik in Berlin Weißensee. Mit seinen Gründern, die 16 Jahre lang in China gelebt haben, und ihrer Leidenschaft, Verbindungen zu schaffen, ist der Ort zu einem der informellen Knotenpunkte für die Asien-Berlin-Community geworden. Seit 2020 findet hier das „POP-UP TEAHOUSE BERLIN“ statt, das 2023 auch schon zum Berlin Asia Arts Festival beitrug: ein sozialer Raum, in dem alles möglich ist, vom ‚Abhängen‘ bei einer Tasse Tee bis hin zu Salons für gesellschaftspolitische Dialoge oder Performance-Kunst auf der Teehaus-Bühne. Einzigartig im C*SPACE ist auch das permanente Kunstwerk „Common Space- Everything flows 一切皆流“ von Qian Geng 钱赓.
