Yaxin Yang

Yaxin Yang is an illustrator and cookbook author. Born and raised in Beijing in 1977, she first studied oil painting at the Capital Normal University Beijing. In 2001, she moved to Hamburg, where she continued her studies in illustration with Prof. Rüdiger Stoye at HAW Hamburg and graduated in 2008. First publications followed, such as the book "The Nine-Colored Deer" in 2009, a story from ancient China, which is not only for children. "A successful blend of traditional ink technique and digital media of expression," concluded the FAZ feature article. "A book full of magic, poetry and, not least, hidden irony." Various projects with children followed, as well as diverse commissioned works for German and Chinese publishers.
