Tenzin Peljor

Tenzin Peljor is a fully ordained Buddhist monk (skt. bhikṣu, tib. gelong), Dharma teacher and mindfulness trainer based in Berlin. Born Michael Jäckel in Gotha, he originally studied computer science and theater in Berlin. His spiritual journey led him to various traditions until he finally discovered Buddhism at the age of 29. He was fully ordained as a Buddhist monk in 2006 by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, who gave him the name Tenzin Peljor. He was appointed resident monk for Bodhicharya Germany in Berlin by Ringu Tulku Rinpoche in 2007, where he served as resident monk and board member for several years. From 2008 to 2013 and from 2017 to 2019 he studied at the Lama Tsong Khapa Institute in Italy. In 2020, he was elected as a council member of the German Buddhist Union (DBU). Tenzin Peljor has given courses on Buddhism and meditation in Germany and England for many years. He participates in interfaith dialogues and offered introductory courses on Buddhism and meditation for school classes. He has also initiated projects for children, prisoners and drug addicts and offers individual support. With extensive studies of major Buddhist texts, Tenzin Peljor is an expert in his field.
