Tao Hai Yue is a versatile artist who works with various media such as painting, sculpture and heterogeneous installations. Tao Hai Yue is from southeast China and grew up in a time of reform and rapid urbanization. After studying sculpture in Shanghai, she completed a Master of Arts in Art in Public Space at Bauhaus University Weimar in Germany. In 2015, Tao Hai Yue and her partner founded the product design studio YUUE in Berlin to explore the intersection between art and design. Three years later, she began to pursue her interests in design and art independently. She is also the director of the design agency MÍN Berlin. Her creative practice focuses on contemporary issues such as individual and collective memory, migration, and conflict. Tao Hai Yue's art reflects the world around her and she often expresses her views in interviews and artistic texts.
