Soydivision is a Berlin-based artist collective from the Indonesian diaspora that operates at the intersection of art and activism. The collective provides a dynamic platform for performances, workshops, culinary art, film screenings and discussions. Their socially engaged art-making strategies, such as cathartic experiences, questioning, and therapeutic healing, inform their diverse artistic activities. Emerging from a uniquely diasporic perspective, Soydivision encourages alternative discourse on contemporary issues. Their journey began with the exploration and expression of their identity through performing arts and food, influenced by their experiences of living in a foreign country while maintaining their Indonesian roots. Over time, their focus expanded to include social and environmental injustices and the impact of global industries on their home country. Through their multifaceted art, they continue to challenge stigmatized stereotypes, bridge justice gaps, and inspire transformative dialogues.
