The ancient Indian tradition of dhrupad is a musical experience of spiritual knowledge, its performance is an act of devotion or prayer that evokes a sense of peace and contemplation. Meghana is a student of this ancient music following the Dagar Parampara and has been studying vocal music under the respected guidance of Guru Pandit Uday Bhawalkar since 2005. Since March 2016 she has been a visiting artist at Salisbury University, Maryland, USA.

Meghana has performed at the renowned Franz Liszt Conservatory of Music in Europe, as well as for the Indian Embassy of the Netherlands in The Hague and the University of Twente. She has received a grant from the Indian Ministry of Culture and the National Center for Preforming Arts, as well as the Lalkaar Prize in 2017. From 2012 to 2017 she was a fellow at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy in Kolkata. She has performed on TV channel Insync in India Stage series and is a recognized artist of All India Radio for Dhrupad.

Meghana was born in 1987 and received her first music lessons from Smt Sudha Deo, Dr. Mohan Darekar and Dr. Saleel Kulkarni. She graduated with honors from her Sangeet Alankar (Masters Degree in Indian Classical Music), taught music at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) and at the Academy of Dr. Saleel Kulkarni in Pune and participated in various stage and TV shows such as Aushyawar Bolu Kahi and Nakshatranche Dene.
