
Jan Wagner is a renowned poet, translator, and essayist who has lived in Berlin since 1995. In addition to his own poetry, he has translated English-language poetry, including works by Charles Simic, James Tate, and Jo Shapcott. From 2001 to 2003 he was co-editor of the literary box "The Outside of the Element." His published works include poetry collections such as "Probe Drill in Heaven" (2001), "Guericke's Sparrow" (2004), and "Rain Barrel Variations" (2014). He has also published collections of essays such as "The Sandal of the Prophet. Casual Prose" (2011). Jan Wagner has received numerous awards for his poetry, including the Leipzig Book Fair Prize (2015) and the Georg Büchner Prize (2017). He is a member of several renowned academies and institutions in Germany.
