Prof. Dr. Gülnisa Erdal is a Uyghur writer of Chinese nationality who was born in Xinjiang in 1961. She currently lives in Berlin. Since 2016, she held the title of full professor of Chinese language and literature at Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics. Her research areas include Chinese language didactics and classical Chinese literature. Her literary works include the novellas "The Dream Come True" and "The Story of the Lark and the Rose," as well as short stories published in the journal "Zhongguo Xibu Wenxue" (Literature from Western China) between 2000 and 2001. In 2022, her novel "Banu's Redemption" was published bilingually in German-Chinese.
