Xuedan Tang 唐雪丹 (Echo, b. 1994) is a Berlin-based film curator and cultural worker from Chengdu, China. She studied in Shanghai, New York and London, with a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in cultural management. After her studies she worked in Beijing as a documentary film producer.
In 2021 she received the German Chancellor Scholarship and moved to Berlin. To bring together her diverse interests and ongoing research in the fields of film studies, feminism and socially engaged practices, she founded CiLENS in 2022 - an initiative that embodies the convergence of these passions. CiLENS is a Berlin-based non-profit film curator collective exploring the potential of cinema as a space for transcultural dialogue by showcasing independent Chinese films.
She is also the founder and festival director of the Indie Chinese Cinema Week (ICCW) in Berlin, which is funded by the Berlin Senate Department for Culture and Europe for the second edition in 2023.
