Live Gamelan Concert
with an introductory talk
Swara Bruwang (“Sound of the Bear”) is a Javanese Gamelan Gadhon ensemble from Berlin and Hamburg. Unlike a typical large gamelan orchestra, the Gadhon ensemble consists only of a small selection of quiet, intricately ornamenting instruments, usually reserved for the most advanced players. In this intimate setting, the group presents extensive suites as well as shorter pieces from the classical gamelan repertoire of the royal courts of Central Java.
